About Nona
Nona is a delightful 1-year-old, 50 lb spayed female Staffie mix who is currently being fostered in Austin, TX. She's in her "older puppy era," where her playful spark is blending with a growing confidence as she explores the world. Nona is built like a sturdy little tank with a short, strong frame, and she's quick to proudly hop onto the couch or sprint after her foster siblings. She's a very fast girl who loves to zoom around the yard with her toys and greets her foster mom with an enthusiastic leap after work.
Nona is a sweet and playful companion who loves being near her people. Her whole body wiggles with excitement, and her tail wags a mile a minute. She enjoys meeting new friends, both human and canine, and has had positive experiences strolling downtown and meeting other dogs. She recently did wonderfully when meeting a small child. Nona has a lovable stubborn streak, often showing affection by gently nibbling chins or offering her toys. She's incredibly clever and enjoys puzzles and navigating obstacle courses. She is highly motivated by toys and treats, making training a fun and rewarding experience. Nona has mastered "sit" and is working on her leash manners. She enjoys walks of 2-3 miles and, while she might not love the car ride to get there, she's a delightful companion once she arrives. She is fully crate trained, especially overnight, and settles in beautifully. Nona is doing great with potty training and needs a family to continue reinforcing her routine. She's also a bit of a shy watchdog and will alert you to anything unfamiliar. One of her most charming features is her adorable underbite, which makes her goofy expressions even cuter.
Ideal Home
Nona is dog-friendly and gets along well with her foster siblings. She enjoys play but can sometimes get attached to a favorite toy. She would do best with a canine companion who is respectful of personal space and happy to share attention. Nona hasn't been around cats or young children in a home setting, but based on her personality, she might do well in a calm home with respectful, well-mannered children who understand how to interact with an older puppy. She would thrive with a confident canine friend but would also be happy as an only pet.
Ongoing Health
Nona is up-to-date on vaccinations and spayed.
Training & Support
Nona has mastered "sit" and is continuing to work on her leash manners. She is fully crate trained and doing great with potty training, which will require continued reinforcement. She can be a bit of a shy watchdog and will bark at unfamiliar sights or sounds.
