About Norma Jeane
Norma Jeane is an 8ish year old, 10lb poodle girl who is as playful and spunky as they come! We say 8ish because the shelter had her listed as 10 years old, but our private vet said she could be as young as 7 years old. She certainly acts like a lively, playful gal. Norma LIVES for the ball. Her ideal day would consist of chasing the ball non-stop, then taking short breaks to nap. An adopter who wants to play fetch with her at least 4 times a day is required. Ball is life for our little girl.
Norma is wonderful with people but especially adores young children who are respectful around dogs. She lives with a 4-year-old human child and Norma is all eyes for the kid. She follows him all over the house and they play ball together. She is very sweet to other people, but she is not a cuddler. She wants to play with you or be independent. Again, she is not a lap dog. If you're looking for a dog that will want to cuddle with you, Norma is not your girl! But if you're looking for an awesome sidekick who is game for anything, then Norma is just what you're looking for. She has a medium energy level – she is not going to want to go for super long walks, but she would enjoy going along for the ride, whether in your arms or in a stroller. But once you're inside in the AC with a ball, it's game on, baby!
Norma has not exhibited any separation anxiety and she is non-destructive in the home when left to free roam. The only issue is that she is not 100% potty trained. If a back door is left open, she will do her business outside. But if you're not watching her and the door is closed, she might have an accident inside. She has not yet mastered telling her humans that she needs to potty. She does just fine in an extra-large crate that is essentially her palace and never potties in her crate, so this is always a great option when her human isn't home. She is great in the car and loves looking out the window. Norma lives with 3 other large dogs and coexists perfectly with them. She is not at all interested in engaging with them – she pretty much acts as if they were not there. She would be fine living in a home with another dog, but she does not like super energetic dogs that get in her space. Another laid-back dog would be great, but she would also be perfectly content as a solo dog! Overall, Norma is just a wonderful, lively little pup who is looking for a BFF to do life with.

Ongoing Health
Norma Jeane did have heartworms. She has successfully completed heartworm injections. However, we were unable to spay her prior to injections because treating her heartworm was priority. We will work with the adopter on an appropriate spay date prior to leaving our rescue.
