Life doesn't have to be ruff with these pups around! Meet Ryker McRuffy, a 10-week-old Feist / Basenji mix, weighing 11 pounds (as of 6/18/26). The McRuffy litter were born in Tennessee by a stray mom. Now that they're a little older, they're looking forward to finding a family of their own. They hope it's yours!
Ryker is the only boy in his litter and is truly a mystery. But he hopes his future owners will be a mystery-solving family that'll help him come out of his shell to be the best dog he can be! In fact, he'll even ride with you in the Mystery Machine as you go on haunted house adventures. He really is getting braver everyday! His foster shares: Ryker is doing great! He is spunky, playful, cuddly, and loving. He is doing very, very well with potty training. He sleeps in his crate at night with minimal complaints. He doesn't make it through the night yet; he needs to go outside and pee/poop around 1:00 am but he lets us know and generally goes back to sleep in his crate afterwards.
Ideal Home
Ryker would thrive in a home that is patient and understanding as he continues to build his confidence. He loves people and has done well with children of various ages. He has also met other dogs and enjoys their company. While he hasn't met cats, he has not shown a tendency to chase other animals in the yard.
Ongoing Health
Ryker will be up to date on vaccinations and spayed/neutered at the time of adoption.
Training & Support
Ryker is learning to chew on toys rather than skin, and while he's making progress, he will need continued reminders and positive reinforcement. He has been left alone for short periods with another dog and has done well. Consistency with potty training and crate training will be beneficial. All dogs require professional training to become the best family member they can be.

Transportation
Ryker is currently in a foster home and is not at a physical shelter. Transport to approved adopters is available and included in the adoption fee.
