Cowboy

Cowboy is a resilient survivor, a handsome 2-year-old husky mix who has endured more than any dog should. Despite a past filled with unimaginable cruelty, including being used as a bait dog, Cowboy is ready to leave his trauma behind and embrace a future filled with love and safety. When he arrived at the shelter, he was understandably terrified and in pain, but his spirit has begun to shine through. He's cautious with other dogs, and given his history, he would likely thrive as the sole canine companion in his new home. While he may take a little longer to warm up to men, this is a testament to the past he's overcome, and with patience and kindness, he will undoubtedly learn to trust again. Cowboy has been neutered, is up-to-date on vaccines, and has started treatment for heartworm, showing great progress.

Ideal Home

Cowboy may do best as an only dog, where he can feel secure and learn to trust without the added stress of other animals. He is cautious with other dogs and takes time to warm up to men.

Ongoing Health

Cowboy is heartworm positive and has begun treatment. He is neutered and up-to-date on all vaccinations.

Training & Support

Patience and understanding will be key for Cowboy as he continues to heal from his past trauma. Building trust, especially with men, will be an important part of his journey.
