JOSIE

Meet Josie, a sweet 3-year-old, 35lb pittie mix who has been overlooked for too long. She's a loving, loyal, and fun-loving girl just waiting for her chance to shine. Josie arrived at our shelter in September 2025 and, despite facing the challenges of "black dog syndrome" and breed labels, her spirit remains bright and hopeful. She dreams of being your ultimate adventure buddy and cozy couch companion, all rolled into one!

Ideal Home

Josie needs to be the only pet in her home. She would thrive with an active human or humans who also enjoy relaxing at home. Children aged 13 and up would be a good fit, as Josie can be enthusiastic when greeting. A fenced yard is preferred, but a home in an apartment might be considered if there's a solid plan in place for her exercise and training needs.

Ongoing Health

Josie is spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped.

Training & Support

Josie is housebroken and crate trained. She knows "sit" and "crate" very well and is actively learning "drop it," "give," "leave it," and "come." While she's an excellent walking companion, continued work on leash manners and commands will help her refine her skills. She can be a bit too enthusiastic when greeting, so continued training on her greeting style to prevent jumping is important.
