Cookie is a gentle and loving Labrador mix with a sweet, loyal nature. She is a wonderful companion who enjoys being close to her people and brings calm, comforting energy to those around her. She gets along well with other dogs and children. Cookie is very noble, affectionate, and loyal, making her an excellent family dog. She can be a little nervous at times, especially in new situations, but with patience and kindness she settles in and shows her trusting heart. One of Cookie’s favorite things is looking out the window. It makes her happy to watch the world go by, especially during car rides or quiet moments at home. Cookie was born underneath a house that was completely in ruins, during freezing, below-zero temperatures. Despite such a harsh beginning, she has grown into a resilient and loving dog who is ready for a safe, warm, and forever home. She is approximately 2.5 years old and weighs 48 lbs.
Ideal Home
Cookie would thrive in a home with a fenced backyard and an active family that enjoys outdoor activities. Families with an open conscience about the needs of rescued street animals and their behaviors, and experience in dog behavior and training, will be best equipped to provide her with the patience and understanding she may need.
Ongoing Health
Cookie has been spayed, vaccinated (DHPPI, Rabies, Bordetella), dewormed, and tested negative for heartworm. She comes with a health certificate and vaccination booklet.
Training & Support
Cookie is not house-trained and will require dedicated patience and support in this area. Her rescuers emphasize that due to the overwhelming number of pets in foster care, it's impossible for them to house-train each one. Her new family will need to understand the needs of rescued animals and be prepared for ongoing education and integration.

Transporation
Cookie is currently being fostered in Houston, Texas and is ready to travel to the East Coast and PNW if adopted. A transport fee of $400.00 is applicable, paid by the adopter prior to departure.
