Meet Ponderosa, but you can call him Pondsy! This handsome, almost-2-year-old Shepherd/Lab mix weighs around 60 pounds and is brimming with sunshine, goofiness, and all-around "goodest boy" energy. His glossy black coat and warm brown eyes are simply captivating. When he sees his favorite people, get ready for the signature "Pondsy Wiggle," a furiously wagging tail, and an instant request for belly rubs! Pondsy makes every day an adventure, whether he's hiking, going for a walk, or simply napping in the car. He's a curious, silly pup who's always up for fun, but he's also a master snuggle bug who enjoys relaxing after playtime.
Ideal Home
Pondsy would thrive in a home with a friendly, medium-energy female dog who enjoys roughhousing. However, he would also be perfectly content as your one and only furry companion, soaking up all the attention. He is best suited for a home without cats, as they are too enticing for him, and without small children, as they can be overwhelming. Teenagers (13+) and adults are wonderful, and he will bond deeply with them. While he could adapt to apartment living (first floor) with sufficient exercise and mental stimulation, a yard would be a dream come true for him.
Ongoing Health
Pondsy has undergone leg surgery and completed physical therapy. He's stronger and happier than ever! His back leg has a unique character to it now, but it doesn't hinder his ability to run, play, and zoom.
Training & Support
Pondsy is described as a "goodest boy" with a heart of gold. He's deeply loyal and will follow you around like your biggest fan. He's ready to be your wiggly, snuggly, adventure-loving best friend.
