Smokey

Smokey is a delightful 2-year-old male Cane Corso / Weimaraner mix who came to us as a stray. Weighing in at 60 pounds, he's fully vaccinated, microchipped, neutered, and absolutely brimming with love to give! Smokey is a gentle soul who enjoys a good cuddle on the couch just as much as he loves a playful romp with his doggy friends. He's a smart and quick learner, known for his kind heart and affectionate nature. Smokey is a true couch potato who would be the perfect companion for someone looking for a laid-back, easygoing friend.

Ideal Home

Smokey would thrive in a home without cats. He would also do best in a low-traffic environment due to his shyness around new people. Smokey would love a home with a fenced yard where he can safely play and a family who can offer him plenty of love, patience, and quiet companionship.

Smokey is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccinations.

Training & Support

Smokey is fully potty trained and walks wonderfully on a leash, though he can be a bit nervous and pull slightly when meeting strangers or other dogs, he is easily redirected and settles quickly. He has some mild separation anxiety and will cry for a bit when left alone, but he doesn't exhibit destructive behaviors and eventually calms down. For this reason, Smokey would do best in a home where someone works from home or is not away for extended periods. While he prefers not to be crated, he will rest in his crate and is fine when left to free-roam.

Transporation

Smokey is currently in a foster home in Houston, TX and can be transported to an adopter once an arrangement is made.
