Monami

Hello! My name is Monami, and I'm a 40 lb Husky mix born on September 1, 2019. My name means "my friend" in French, and that's exactly what I'm looking for – a special, compassionate person or couple to be my forever friend! I came to Halfway to Home after my previous owner sadly passed away.

Ideal Home

I'm looking for a quiet, mature home without children or other pets. Because I can be startled by loud noises and have some coordination challenges, a home where I can feel safe and secure is very important. I do best with a person or couple who can guide me, especially with stairs, which I find challenging. A fenced yard would be wonderful, but I could also be happy in a ground-floor condo or apartment as long as I get daily walks.

Ongoing Health

I have a neurological condition called cerebral hyperplasia, which affects my coordination, balance, and depth perception. While it seems mild now and rarely worsens, it means I walk a bit carefully and sometimes have trouble locating treats or toys you might offer. I can still enjoy running and playing, but my new home will need to help keep me safe from small obstacles or uneven surfaces.

Training & Support

I love to "talk" and engage in conversations with my humans, just like many Huskies. I also need regular brushing because I shed quite a bit. Patience will be key as I navigate my world, but I promise to be a wonderful companion.
