Meet Happy, a 5-pound senior Chihuahua with approximately 13–14 years of experience judging everyone around her. After her owner passed away, this tiny tyrant found herself in an overcrowded Detroit shelter. We couldn't leave her there, so we scooped her up and brought her to safety. Since then, Happy has made her feelings about the world abundantly clear. Dogs? Absolutely not. Cats? Don't even ask. Children? She'd like to file a formal complaint. Strangers? Suspicious. You? Maybe. We'll see. Happy is looking for a retirement home where she can spend her golden years doing what she loves most: napping, eating gourmet meals, and silently evaluating your life choices from across the room. She isn't a cuddler. She doesn't want to play fetch. She doesn't care about your exciting day at work. What she DOES want is for her person to exist nearby at all times without making a big deal about it. Think of her less as a dog and more as a tiny, elderly roommate who pays no bills and occasionally screams at things. Happy currently enjoys a carefully curated menu of cooked hamburger and boiled chicken because she has standards. She's earned the right to be a little high maintenance. Despite her spicy attitude, Happy deserves a soft place to land. Beneath all that Chihuahua sass is a little old lady whose world was turned upside down and who simply wants a quiet home to live out her remaining years in peace.
