Meet Brie! This stunning girl is approximately 3 years old and weighs just over 60 pounds. Brie's journey to us was a tough one; she arrived at a shelter in rough shape, battling heartworm and a very sparse coat. But Brie is a survivor, and with dedicated care, good food, and time, she's blossomed into a gorgeous and healthy dog. She's a livestock guardian breed, known for their independent minds, fierce loyalty, and protective nature. Brie is a thoughtful observer of new people, preferring to assess them before offering her trust. Once she bonds with you, you'll have a devoted companion for life. She's done well with other dogs, but appreciates slow introductions and may do best as the only pet, especially for out-of-state adopters. While squirrels are a fascinating distraction, Brie hasn't been tested with cats. She's also not been around young children, so a home with older children who understand respectful dog interactions would be ideal. Brie is new to indoor living but has shown excellent manners in her kennel, keeping her space clean and not disturbing her bedding, suggesting she'll adapt beautifully to home life with patience and consistency. Ideally, Brie would thrive with a family experienced with livestock guardian breeds or one eager to learn about these special dogs.
Ideal Home
Brie would be happiest in a home with a securely fenced yard where she can safely enjoy the outdoors while still being an integral part of the family. She is not looking for an outdoor-only home and desires indoor snuggles and outdoor adventures. A home with older children who understand respectful dog interactions is recommended.
Ongoing Health
Brie has successfully completed heartworm treatment and her beautiful coat has fully grown back. All our dogs are vetted by a licensed veterinarian, spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations.
Training & Support
Brie is still adjusting to indoor living but shows great promise. Patience and consistency will be key to her successful transition. Experience with livestock guardian breeds is a plus, or a willingness to learn about them.
