Meet Sunshine! This incredibly sweet and gentle girl spent her first year in a kennel, making the big, wide world a bit overwhelming for her. But don't let her shyness fool you; Sunshine is a true gem for the right person. She's very submissive, never causing conflict, and her unique way of showing affection involves soft little kisses and enthusiastic booty scratches. She's also a fantastic companion for calm individuals or couples who appreciate a peaceful home. Sunshine is housebroken, well-behaved, and surprisingly unfazed by bad weather, even enjoying a rainy day stroll! She thrives with routine and predictability, and while she's not a social butterfly, the deep, personal bond she forms with her trusted human is truly special.
Ideal Home
Sunshine would do best in a calm, quiet home with patient and observant humans. She needs a predictable environment and a gentle hand to help her build confidence. Due to her sensitivity to fast movements and unpredictability, she would not be a good fit for homes with small children. She also thrives with the companionship of another calm dog, which helps her feel more secure.
Ongoing Health
Sunshine recently tested positive for heartworm and will be undergoing treatment before she is ready for adoption.
Training & Support
Sunshine is housebroken and well-behaved, with no issues of jumping, excessive barking, or destructive behavior. Her main need is gentle guidance and patience as she navigates new experiences. Her adopter should be mindful of not pushing her too far out of her comfort zone while still providing thoughtful opportunities for her to grow.
