Opossum

Opossum is a shy but sweet Catahoula Leopard Dog mix with a heart of gold, born on February 9, 2025. He earned his name because when he gets nervous, he likes to play dead to make scary things disappear. He was rescued with many other dogs who hadn't had much interaction with people, and Opossum is working on building his confidence. He's currently learning to walk on a leash, and while he was initially unsure about the outdoors, he quickly fell in love with exploring once he got the chance. Opossum is quick to let you know when he wants attention, and he's ready to be the center of your world. With patience, love, and training, he'll blossom into a confident and outgoing companion. He also enjoys the company of other dogs, as they give him a boost of confidence, so a friendly and welcoming canine friend would be a great addition to his new home. Opossum would do well in a home with another friendly and welcoming dog, as they provide him with confidence.

All dogs receive heartworm testing, are up-to-date on vaccines and dewormings, and are microchipped.

Training & Support

Opossum is currently working on leash walking. He is still learning and will need patience and training to become more confident. Potty training may be necessary as he adjusts to a new environment.
