Ferrari is a sweet 3-year-old, 50-pound boy with medium energy who enjoys napping, sunbathing, and observing his humans. He's been told he's friendly with dogs, cats, and kids. Ferrari tends to ignore the cats in his foster home and wags his tail enthusiastically at school buses, hinting at a history of greeting children. He's generally quiet until it's time for a walk or dinner. He sometimes experiences separation anxiety but his foster family is working on it. Ferrari is a well-behaved boy who only chews his toys and has never damaged anything in his foster home. He knows several commands like "sit," "lie down," and "come," and is eager to learn more. While he's not yet perfect on leash, he's improving daily. Ferrari absolutely loves car rides, hugs, and meeting new people, treating everyone like an old friend. He enjoys long hikes and learns quickly, though he can overheat easily and requires clothing and water when it's above 80°F. He's happy to carry his own water in his backpack on hikes and doesn't mind a crate if his owners choose to go out without him.
Ideal Home
Ferrari would be a perfect dog for a busy family or a family that spends most of the day at home.
Ongoing Health
Ferrari gets overheated easily and will require protective clothing and water when temperatures are above 80°F.
Training & Support
Ferrari is house-trained and crate-trained, though he may cry when left alone in his crate. A calm voice can help soothe him. He is working on his separation anxiety. He is still learning to walk perfectly on leash.
