Meet Mo!
This six-year-old Chesapeake Bay Retriever mix is a gentle soul with a beautiful tricolor coat, searching for his peaceful forever home. Mo is a wonderfully sweet snuggler, and at 75 pounds, he still thinks he's a lap dog! He's calm and low-energy indoors, forming deep bonds with those he trusts, especially women. Once he feels safe, he becomes a loyal shadow to his favorite person. Mo is house-trained, crate-trained, and knows basic commands like sit, stay, and come. His favorite pastime is snuggling close and receiving affection, making quiet evenings together the coziest experience.
Ideal Home
Mo thrives in a calm, structured environment, ideally in a quiet rural or suburban area with a securely fenced yard. He needs a home without other pets, as he has a strong prey drive and unfamiliar animals can cause him stress. He would do best in a home without cats and where visitors are infrequent.
Ongoing Health
Mo has a mild allergy to poultry and needs to avoid it. He also has mild arthritis in his hind legs, though this doesn't stop him from enjoying cuddles. He is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccinations.
Training & Support
Mo can become anxious and reactive in busy, noisy environments like city streets. He needs a guardian experienced with anxiety or reactivity in dogs, who uses positive reinforcement and has a lot of patience. Consistency and gentle companionship are essential, and he'd do well with someone who works from home or maintains a predictable routine.
