Hiromi is a beautiful 4-year-old Belgian Malinois mix who weighs approximately 36 lbs. She was found as a stray in Matamoros, Mexico, underweight and covered in ticks and fleas. Despite her rough start, Hiromi has a sweet spirit and has blossomed into a happy, healthy girl who loves to play and spend time with people. She can be a little shy when meeting new people but quickly warms up, revealing her affectionate and loving nature. Hiromi is crate and leash trained, intelligent, and thrives with regular exercise and mental stimulation. She's looking for her happy ending, a forever home where she'll be loved and cherished as part of the family.
Ideal Home
Hiromi would thrive in an active home with a fenced backyard and a family that enjoys outdoor activities. She needs a family with a genuine intention to rescue and understand the needs of a street animal, providing protection and education. Previous experience with dog behavior and training is preferred, or a commitment to hiring a trainer. High tolerance and patience are essential for helping her adjust.
Ongoing Health
Hiromi has received spay/neuter surgery, DHPPI and rabies vaccines, Bordetella vaccine, deworming, and is microchipped. She has tested negative for heartworm and 4DX, and is on monthly Nexgard Spectra preventative for fleas, ticks, and heartworm. A health certificate and vaccination booklet are available.
Training & Support
Hiromi is not house-trained and will require patience and understanding as she adjusts to a new home. It's important to recognize that rescued dogs may have fears and anxieties due to past experiences and need time to adapt. Establishing a routine and clear boundaries will help her feel secure.
