Meet Michelle! This delightful 3-year-old Staffordshire Terrier mix, weighing around 48 pounds, is a true gem looking for her forever family. Michelle was rescued from a high-kill shelter and has blossomed in her foster home, showing off her friendly, affectionate, and social personality. She absolutely adores her canine foster siblings, enjoying playful romps and cozy naps with them. While she can get a bit enthusiastic during play, she's a quick learner and adjusts her behavior well. Outside, she has plenty of energy for fun, and indoors, she's a mellow companion, happy to settle down for a snooze.
Ideal Home
Michelle has a sweet nature with children and has done well with those aged 8 and up. However, she can be a bit jumpy when excited, so a home with children 12 and older, or dog-savvy teens, would be ideal to help manage her exuberance. She would also thrive in a home with another friendly dog to be her playmate.
Ongoing Health
Michelle is a healthy girl with no specific ongoing health conditions noted.
Training & Support
Michelle is a smart cookie who is motivated by food and learns quickly. She's already house-trained and crate-trained, often choosing to rest in her crate even during the day. She does have a bit of a mischievous side when it comes to food, so separate feeding is recommended to prevent any treat-snatching. Continued positive reinforcement and redirection will help her with leash manners, as she tends to pull a bit. Supervision is also key due to her love for chewing and her tendency to be an escape artist; a securely fenced yard or diligent leash walks are a must.
