Kenai

Kenai is a beautiful mixed breed, estimated to be between 2 and 4 years old, who has overcome an incredibly difficult past. She was found as a stray with a chain and trap dragging behind her. Upon rescue, it was discovered she had sustained severe injuries to her leg from the trap, requiring amputation. Now, Kenai is safe and recovering with us, bravely learning to navigate the world as a tripod. Despite her traumatic experience, she has emerged as a sweet, gentle, friendly, and smart companion. She also gets along wonderfully with other dogs. Kenai is ready to leave her heartbreaking past behind and embrace a brighter future.

Kenai is a resilient and loving dog who would thrive in a home that can provide her with patience and understanding as she continues to adjust.

Ongoing Health

Kenai's leg was amputated due to injuries sustained from a trap. She is recovering well and adapting to life as a tripod.

Training & Support

Like all rescue dogs, Kenai will benefit from continued training and socialization to help her build confidence and learn new skills in her forever home.

Transportation

Kenai is located in South Carolina. We provide weekly transport to the Northeast. Applicants not located on the East Coast should be prepared to travel to pick her up. We are happy to offer local or virtual meet-and-greets once an application is on file.
