Lillie Grace is a very sweet, quiet, and friendly 10-year-old Shih Tzu who weighs 10.4 pounds. She and her sister, Lexie Lynn, were lovingly cared for by their owner, who sadly passed away. Thankfully, Lillie Grace and Lexie Lynn were found safe and sound. They are used to sleeping in bed or on the couch, travel well, and walk nicely on a leash. Lillie Grace can be a bit timid at first and gets nervous during bad weather and fireworks, but she is responsive when called. She and Lexie Lynn do very well during grooming and are accustomed to regular professional grooming.
Ideal Home
Lillie Grace would do best in a home without small children, as many dogs in rescue come from situations involving young children. Homes with visiting grandchildren should also be carefully considered. She needs a home where she will be an inside dog and a cherished member of the family. If a doggie door is present, it must be accompanied by secure fencing, and the dog must be over 15 pounds. Given her small size, she must be monitored and protected when outside at all times due to predator threats.
Ongoing Health
Lillie Grace has undergone vetting, including being spayed, having dental work with 4 extractions, being up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations, and testing negative for heartworm and fecal parasites. She is on monthly flea, tick, and heartworm prevention and is microchipped. No current health issues have been observed.
Training & Support
Lillie Grace understands "no" but doesn't know much else. Housetraining should be manageable in the right home with time, patience, and consistency. Kenneling is recommended when unsupervised to aid in housetraining and prevent destructive tendencies.
