Artemis - URGENT

Artemis Fowl is an adorable 5-month-old Lab / Cattle Dog mix who urgently needs a safe and comfortable home to recover from an upper respiratory infection. He's been at the Kern County Animal Services - Bakersfield Shelter since May 9, 2026, and is ready to leave the stressful shelter environment behind. Despite his current health needs, Artemis is eager to find his forever family.

Ideal Home

Artemis would thrive in a home where he can rest and recover. As he is a young puppy, a home that can provide patient guidance and a calm environment would be ideal.

Ongoing Health

Artemis is currently being treated for an upper respiratory infection. He needs a quiet place to heal and will require continued care and monitoring from his new family.

Training & Support

As a young puppy, Artemis will benefit from continued positive reinforcement training and socialization to help him grow into a well-adjusted adult dog. He is not yet house-trained.

Transporation

Artemis is currently located at the Kern County Animal Services - Bakersfield Shelter. Companion Animal Protection Services (CAPS) can arrange transportation for adopters located on the West Coast, with adopters responsible for associated transport fees.
