Cowboy

Cowboy is a resilient and brave 2-year-old survivor who has overcome immense trauma. He was found abandoned, tethered and injured, and sadly, it was discovered he had been used as a bait dog. Despite his past, Cowboy is now safe, neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, and receiving necessary medical care. He is currently undergoing treatment for heartworm and is on the road to recovery. Cowboy can be cautious around other dogs and may thrive as the only pet in the household, allowing him to feel completely secure. He can be a bit reserved with men due to his past experiences, but with patience and understanding, he is learning to trust again. Cowboy is ready to leave his painful past behind and find a loving, unwavering home.

Ideal Home

Cowboy may do best as an only dog where he can feel completely safe and secure. He takes time to warm up to men, so a patient adopter who can help him build trust is essential.

Ongoing Health

Cowboy is heartworm positive but has begun treatment and is expected to make a full recovery. He is neutered and up-to-date on vaccines.

Training & Support

Cowboy is a survivor and is still learning to trust. He will need continued patience and positive reinforcement as he continues to build confidence, especially around men.
