About Ralphie

Ralphie arrived on this earth with one singular mission: to do everything, at full speed, with maximum enthusiasm, ideally with you right there beside him. This one-year-old Jack Russell Terrier mix is the definition of all-in. Play fetch? All in. Cuddle on the couch? All in. Burrow under the blankets and press his entire body against yours like a small, warm, wiggling furnace? Absolutely, completely, non-negotiably all in. Ralphie is your perfect shadow - wherever you go, whatever you do, Ralphie would like to be involved. He's not needy; he's just dedicated to the concept of you. Tennis balls, squeaky toys, fetch, running, more running, then a little more running – Ralphie could run circles around you all day and honestly, probably will. He is a one-dog cardio program. When the energy has finally been spent, Ralphie will find you, locate the nearest blanket, tunnel underneath it like a tiny heat-seeking missile, and cuddle up as close as physically possible. The transition from feral energy gremlin to world's sweetest snuggle bug is genuinely impressive. He's looking for a one-dog household; he's not a fan of other dogs and frankly, he doesn't see why he should have to share you with anyone. Ralphie is not the dog for someone who wants to sit still. He's the dog for the family that hikes, runs, plays, and then collapses together on the couch at the end of the day in a happy, exhausted heap. He'll keep up with your kids, outlast your fetch arm, and still have enough left in the tank to burrow under your blanket and remind you that he is, at his core, a very good boy who just wants to be close to his people.

Training & Support

Ralphie is house trained, he sits and lays down. He is currently workshopping his leash walking skills — a work in progress, but we have confidence in his trajectory. We expect that all adopted dogs will enroll in a formal dog training class with their new owners. Obedience and training classes are an excellent way to learn more about your newly adopted dog, gain handling and training experience, and improve your relationship with your pet.

Application Details:
