Prince is a handsome young adult male, estimated to be around 1 year old, who is ready to leave his past behind and find the loving forever home he deserves. This sweet boy was found as a stray alongside two other dogs, and thankfully, all three were rescued and brought to safety. After no owner came forward, he officially became part of the ROOT Rescue family. Our best guess is that he's a Cavapoo (Cavalier King Charles Spaniel/Poodle mix) due to his markings, coat, and structure. Prince has a gentle, loving soul and is happiest when he's with his people. He greets everyone with a wagging tail and a happy attitude, truly not having a mean bone in his body.
Ideal Home
Prince would likely do best with someone who works from home, has a flexible schedule, or is simply looking for a constant companion. He would be happiest in a calm home with a predictable routine where he can continue to build confidence and feel secure. Prince does exceptionally well in a home with other dogs and finds comfort in their companionship. While another dog isn't required, we do believe he would thrive in a home with a friendly, confident canine companion.
Ongoing Health
Prince has been fully vetted and is up to date on his vaccinations, neutered, microchipped, dewormed, heartworm and Lyme tested, and has been examined by our veterinarian. He is healthy.
Training & Support
The only challenge Prince is currently working through is his separation anxiety. He struggles with being left alone and doesn't enjoy being crated, becoming anxious when separated from his people. We are looking for a family that understands his separation anxiety and is willing to continue helping him build confidence through patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement. ROOT Rescue offers a foster-to-adopt program and partners with a professional trainer who is available to help guide adopters through the transition and provide support if needed.
