Dottie

Meet Dottie! This sweet, wiggly 4-year-old, 65lb female is a likely boxer mix who was found as a stray and arrived in rough shape, suffering from neglect and a severe skin condition. Thankfully, with dedicated veterinary care and a special diet (currently Purina HA Salmon kibble), she's made incredible progress and is no longer on medication for her skin, though its long-term needs are still being monitored. Dottie has blossomed in foster care, gaining confidence and showing off her big, boisterous personality. She's a smart girl who enjoys her crate, especially when it means treats, and is house-trained, though some patience for new-home accidents is appreciated. She's currently working on her leash manners, as it seems she may not have had structured walks before. Dottie gets along well with respectful male dogs and has been closely monitored with balanced female dogs, doing well but preferring to coexist. She would do best in a home with a confident, balanced dog to help her continue to grow.

Dottie is currently being treated for potential skin allergies and is on a special diet (Purina HA Salmon kibble). Her long-term skin needs are still being assessed.

Training & Support

Dottie is crate-trained and house-trained, though some accidents may occur as she adjusts to a new environment. She is currently working on her leash manners and would benefit from continued structured walks. She is nervous around new people but can be won over with treats.
