Prune is a big dog with a gentle heart who is looking for a stable, calm, and patient home to continue her beautiful life. Behind her impressive size (119 lbs) is an affectionate, endearing, and sensitive companion. She is used to an indoor environment and behaves well at home, being house-trained and knowing basic commands like sit, stay, down, and give paw. She is generally calm in her day-to-day life and walks well on a leash, though she can pull a little when distracted by squirrels or pigeons. She can also become agitated by the noise of skateboards and scooters. Personality-wise, Prune is friendly with people. While she may be a bit nervous with strangers initially, she adapts quickly and becomes very social. She enjoys playing fetch and loves treats, especially dried beef liver!
Ideal Home
A home with children aged 12 and over is recommended due to her large size and strength. She could thrive with a single person or a couple, ideally in a calm environment where her adjustment period will be respected. She has never lived with cats, and any introduction to another dog would need to be done carefully as she has never cohabited with other animals.
Ongoing Health
Prune has food and seasonal allergies that are well managed with an appropriate diet (chicken-free) and, when needed, medication. Her future family should be mindful of this aspect of her care.
Training & Support
Prune knows basic commands and walks well on a leash, but she can get distracted by small animals and agitated by loud noises like skateboards. Patience and a calm environment will help her continue to feel secure.
