Dakota - MEDICAL HOLD Foster to adopt locally

Dakota is a super friendly, year-old Belgian Shepherd mix who is recovering from surgery to repair a broken leg. She's a smart and playful pup with a lot of love to give! Dakota is looking for a special foster-to-adopt home where she can continue her healing journey. It's much less stressful for her to recover in a comfortable home environment.

Ideal Home

Dakota would thrive in a home with experienced owners who understand breed-specific needs and enjoy training. Due to her high prey drive, she cannot be placed in a home with cats. She is also reactive to other dogs, so a home without canine companions would be best.

Ongoing Health

Dakota had surgery at the end of June to repair a broken leg. She will need to remain close to our vet partners for follow-up appointments, including a recheck this week and an X-ray at the 6-8 week mark. Her spay surgery also still needs to be done. All of these veterinary costs are included in her adoption fee.

Training & Support

Dakota is not a fan of being in her kennel for long periods but does settle well and has not been destructive to her belongings. She is eager to connect with her person through training. While her prey drive is a typical breed trait, consistent training will help her focus on her handler.
