Boone

Boone is a 2-year-old, neutered Chihuahua/Dachshund mix weighing around 18 pounds. He has the kindest face and soulful eyes, making it impossible not to root for him. Boone came to us from a heartbreaking hoarding situation where he had limited human interaction. Despite his past, he remains incredibly gentle, sweet, and eager for the love he deserves. He's making steady progress in building confidence and learning that the world can be a safe place. Boone enjoys observing new things before participating and has a quiet, thoughtful nature. He would love a family that celebrates his small victories and appreciates his gentle spirit.

Ideal Home

Boone would do best in a calm, patient home that can continue his socialization and help him build confidence at his own pace. A quieter home environment is recommended, and a friendly, confident resident dog could be a great companion to help him feel more secure.

Boone is neutered and up-to-date on vaccinations.

Training & Support

Boone is learning to walk on a leash and continues to gain confidence with gentle encouragement. He is crate-trained and finds security in his crate. Positive reinforcement, predictable routines, and compassionate guidance will help him thrive.

Transporation

Boone is currently located in Austin, Texas. Transport can be arranged by our rescue to approved adopters on our next available transport, which runs every few weeks.
