Mara is a sweet girl with a heartwarming rescue story! She was rescued from a shelter's euthanasia list in Houston, TX. Her creamy white eye made her overlooked by potential adopters and rescues, but a kind Samaritan stepped in and funded life-saving surgery for her. The cause of the eye condition is unknown, but it's believed to have been a puncture or malnutrition when she was a puppy. Now, Mara is ready for her second chance at a happy life! She absolutely loves to run and play, and would thrive with plenty of space to explore, like a large yard or property in the country. She's not accustomed to city living and would likely find densely populated areas overwhelming. Mara generally gets along well with other dogs, but she prefers companions who aren't overly dominant. She's a joy on car rides and loves her walks, making her a wonderful potential friend.
