Meet Sadie — Our Big, Beautiful, Derpy Sweetheart!

Sadie is a 1-year-old, approximately 70lb Shepherd/Husky mix who is as intelligent as she is charming. She has a unique and endearing feature: a small piece missing from the center tip of her nose, adding to her one-of-a-kind personality. Sadie is a loving, loyal, and affectionate girl who gives the best full-body hugs and lives for belly rubs. She's curious about everything and has learned to be polite, making soulful eye contact that will melt your heart.

Ideal Home

Sadie thrives with other young, playful dogs and must go to a home with canine friends who enjoy wrestling and can handle a 70lb goofball. She was previously surrendered for being destructive when left uncrated and unattended, and for chasing the resident cat, so a home prepared for her energy and requiring supervision when alone is essential.

Ongoing Health

Sadie is structurally fine despite the missing piece of her nose.

Training & Support

Sadie is crate trained (and will need an XL crate when left alone) and is housebroken, though occasional accidents may occur if her cues are missed. She is very smart and food-motivated, responding well to training. She knows some basic obedience and enjoys benebones and elk antlers during downtime.

Transporation

Sadie is being fostered in Maryland. Adopters should plan to come to our rescue center to meet her. She walks well on a harness and is great in the car.
