Gene is an incredibly affectionate and friendly Shepherd Mix, who is 2 years old and weighs 55 lbs. He's not just sweet; he’s also intelligent and easily trainable. Gene was rescued from an abandoned lot and has adapted well to a loving foster home. He's a smart boy who understands his crate is a safe space and settles down without prompting. He's a high-energy dog with a playful spirit and loves to run! Gene is a fantastic companion who is sweet, funny, and full of love. He was named Gene in May 2024 and is unsure if he would respond to any other name.

Ideal Home

Gene would thrive in a home with someone who enjoys outdoor activities like hiking or running. He would do best in a home with a spacious, fenced yard where he can spend more time outdoors. He is not a fan of cats.

Ongoing Health

Gene is neutered and up-to-date on his vaccinations.

Training & Support

Gene is house-trained and crate-trained, and has never had an accident indoors. He walks well on a leash but tends to pull because he's eager to go faster. He sometimes gets excited when passing people or other dogs but is always friendly. He can be destructive if left alone for long periods.
