Leftie is a resilient and adorable Pitty mix pup with a striking gray calico brindle coat. He earned his unique name because he arrived at the vet on the same day our vet experienced unexpected paralysis on the left side. Thankfully, our vet has since recovered and is back to work! Leftie's story is one of incredible strength; he was brought in as a very sick puppy, testing positive for PARVO. With dedicated medical intervention and the loving care of our vet staff, he is a true survivor and is now doing terrifically! He absolutely adores playing with toys and loves to snuggle up in a cozy blanket. While he wasn't a huge fan of bath time, he enjoyed being wrapped in a towel and hiding underneath it. Leftie is full of playful energy and then, like all good pups, he tires himself out and becomes a champion napper. It's important to know that once a puppy survives Parvo, they gain immunity and will never contract it again.
Ideal Home
We are searching for a loving family or individual who will give Leftie a chance to thrive in a home where he is cherished and appreciated. He needs a home that understands the potential discrimination pit bull and pit bull mix breeds can face. His ideal home will offer consistent, calm, and loving discipline, along with dedicated training. You may need to be his advocate, standing up for him with those who may not understand what a wonderful dog he truly is.
Ongoing Health
Leftie is a survivor of Parvo. Once recovered, dogs gain immunity and will not contract the virus again.
Training & Support
Leftie may need continued training with calm, loving care and discipline to help him thrive. He will benefit from a dedicated adopter who is willing to be his advocate and help him navigate any misunderstandings regarding his breed.
