Owen

Meet Owen, a handsome Great Pyrenees with a heart as big as his fluffy paws! He's a true "Gentle Giant," known for being calm, affectionate, loyal, and easygoing. Owen loves to explore the world at his own pace, whether that's on a new trail, a relaxing patio, or after a good nap following an adventure. He's happiest when he's near his people, quietly devoted and soaking in life's simple moments. Owen is also a master of the "Pyr Paw," a gentle reminder for extra belly rubs! When he arrived, his coat was severely matted, requiring a shave for a fresh start. His signature fluffy coat will grow back beautifully with time and love.

Ideal Home

Owen would thrive with active or outdoorsy adopters who are patient and appreciate independent breeds. He'd do well in family-friendly homes with older children or teens, or in an adults-only home. A securely fenced yard is a must, and families familiar with or excited to learn about the Great Pyrenees breed would be a great match. He needs to be securely leashed or in a fenced area as he can wander.

Ongoing Health

Owen had to be shaved down due to severe matting. His coat will grow back with time, proper grooming, and a loving home.

Training & Support

Owen is house-trained with a consistent routine and is comfortable in a crate, though he can experience crate anxiety. He can counter surf if there are tempting snacks available. Like many Great Pyrenees, he can be wonderfully stubborn at times.
