Meet Ponderosa, or "Pondsy" as we affectionately call him! This handsome, almost 2-year-old Shepherd/Lab mix is about 60 pounds of pure sunshine, a dash of goofiness, and a whole lot of "goodest boy" energy. Pondsy has a soft, shiny black coat and big, warm brown eyes that will melt your heart. When he sees his favorite people, get ready for the signature "Pondsy Wiggle," accompanied by a furiously wagging tail and an immediate request for belly rubs.
Pondsy is an adventure-seeking, yet totally chill, companion. He's happy to join you on hikes, trot beside you on walks, or curl up for a nap in the car. He's curious, silly, and always up for fun. He's also a big snuggle bug who loves to relax after a day of excitement. He adores other dogs and would thrive with a playful, medium-energy female canine friend, but he's also perfectly content to be your one and only.
Ideal Home
Pondsy would do best in a home without cats, as they are a bit too interesting for him. He's also looking for a home without small children, as they can be overwhelming. Teenagers (13+) and adults are perfect, as he bonds deeply and will be your shadow. While he can adapt to apartment living (first floor preferred) with sufficient exercise and mental stimulation, a yard would make him extra happy.
Ongoing Health
Pondsy has undergone leg surgery and worked hard through physical therapy. His back leg has a unique character now, but it doesn't slow him down one bit, and he loves to run, play, and zoom!
Training & Support
Pondsy is working on his confidence and learning to navigate the world. We assess and provide behavior modification for all our dogs, including crate training, potty training, and leash walking, to prepare them for their future families.

Pondsy is located in Texas. We offer nationwide transport via our USDA-certified system, ensuring safe and comfortable travel with 24/7 care. Drop-off locations are available in WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, WI, and Canada (pick-up in Bellingham, WA, Buffalo, NY, or Brattleboro, VT for Canadian adopters). You can track his journey in real-time. A surcharge of $87 applies due to rising transportation costs. Texas adopters must pick up from the Houston area.
