Nova Lee is a fun-loving Boxer Terrier mix who was born in April of 2016. She’s a smart and busy girl who loves playing fetch, going for long walks, watching squirrels, and playing yard games. Nova is an explorer at heart and will need a backyard with a 6-foot fence to keep her safely at home. She’s friendly and gets along well with all people, but she prefers to be the only four-legged friend in the house and does not enjoy sharing her space with other dogs or cats. Nova knows basic commands like "sit," "shake," and "ball." Her foster mom has been working with her on "stay" and she's no longer a door bolter, making her an even smarter and well-behaved sweetheart! Nova has learned indoor manners and is content keeping your spot on the couch warm while you're away. She is not regularly kenneled, but when she has been, she pouts briefly before settling down on her own. Nova is 100% housebroken and will whine to let you know she needs to go outside. She is working on her leash manners and can get excited and pull, but she is making progress with her foster family. Nova can growl playfully during tug-of-war. Because of her high energy and playful personality, she would do best in a home with children over 15 years old. Her foster mom discovered that Nova has a special fondness for a particular house slipper; she carries it to her bed and sleeps with it like a stuffed animal. This sweet girl is eager to find a family that will shower her with attention, love, and all the birthday cake she deserves!
