Gunner is a handsome 3-year-old, 50-pound black and tan hound mix with a heart full of love and a personality to match! He was rescued from a small-town dog pound in Texas and is now ready to find his forever home. Gunner is a truly good boy who enjoys the simple pleasures in life: a comfy couch, a good chew toy, and plenty of human attention. He's crate-trained, comes when called, and is a polite passenger in the car. He even tolerates baths like a champ! While he loves to play and wrestle with his doggy friends, Gunner is a true Texan at heart and prefers to spend his days snoozing in the cool air conditioning, only venturing out for potty breaks and short bursts of play.
Ideal Home
Gunner thrives in a home where he can relax and receive plenty of affection. He loves other dogs and would likely do well with a canine companion.
Ongoing Health
Gunner is neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. He has been treated for heartworms and is now heartworm-negative. He is up-to-date on monthly heartworm and flea prevention.
Training & Support
As a hound, Gunner has some typical hound behaviors. He gets very excited about squirrels and will bark at people, dogs, and cats passing by. He's also a bit of a counter-surfer and has been known to get into the garbage if cabinets aren't secured. Gunner is a happy and goofy boy who is eager to please and will benefit from continued training and guidance to manage his hound-y instincts.
