Hershey is a sweet Chihuahua boy who weighs about 8.6 lbs and was born on January 10, 2026. He's a happy and playful pup who loves to explore and spend time with people and other dogs. Hershey is friendly with everyone, including children, men, and women, making him a fantastic companion for many families. He's not a big barker and has a cheerful personality that's sure to brighten your day! At night, he sleeps in an open crate and enjoys his freedom. Like many young dogs, Hershey is curious and loves to chew, so he'll need appropriate chew toys and supervision as he continues to learn.
Hershey's past was a bit rough; he was born into a situation where promises of care for puppies faded, and there were times he and his siblings went without food. Thankfully, he's now safe, healthy, and ready for a loving family who will cherish him forever and ensure he never has to wonder where his next meal or cuddle will come from.
Ideal Home
We are looking for an active family that enjoys outdoor activities and has a securely fenced backyard. Experience with dog behavior and training is preferred, or a willingness to hire a trainer is a must. Families with a deep understanding of rescue animals and a high tolerance and patience for puppies are ideal. Hershey is not house-trained, and his new family must be prepared for this.
Ongoing Health
Hershey has received comprehensive health protocols, including being spayed/neutered, vaccinated (DHPPI, Rabies, Bordetella), dewormed, and microchipped. He has also tested negative for heartworm and 4DX, and is on monthly preventive protection for fleas, ticks, and heartworm. A health certificate and vaccination booklet are provided.
Training & Support
Hershey is not house-trained and will require patience and consistency from his new family. He also loves to chew, so providing him with appropriate chew toys and supervision is important as he continues to learn.
