About Daisy Mae
Daisy Mae is a beautiful 2-year-old, 35lb spayed female pittie mix who has overcome a difficult start in life. Rescued as part of a police confiscation case for abuse and neglect, she weighed just 18 lbs at six months old. It took months of gentle care for her to learn that a kind hand meant love, not harm. Today, Daisy Mae is a happy, affectionate, and playful girl ready to find a family who will give her the safety and devotion she deserves. She has an enthusiastic, playful personality and loves to romp around with other dogs once comfortable, though she can be a bit bossy during play and benefits from slow introductions. She interacts well with dogs from 35-70 lbs and does best with balanced or confident dogs who can handle her enthusiasm. Daisy Mae absolutely adores kids of all ages and is gentle and loving with them. She has a moderate activity level, enjoying walks and playtime, but also knows how to relax. She's great on leash, fully house-trained, and crate-trained, sleeping soundly through the night. Because of her past experience with food insecurity, Daisy Mae eats and enjoys treats in her crate to help her feel safe. She has never shown guarding toward people but may bark at other dogs walking by when she's eating. She's happiest when given space for mealtime and a calm environment. Daisy Mae is outgoing, smart, and affectionate, loving car rides, heavy chew toys, and being near her people. She may act shy at first when meeting strangers but warms up quickly and loves attention once she feels secure. Daisy Mae is the definition of resilience, blossoming into a loving, loyal companion who greets every day with joy and trust.
Ideal Home
Daisy Mae adores kids of all ages and is gentle and loving with them. She doesn't need another dog in the home to be happy and would do wonderfully as an only pet. If placed with another dog, slow intros are essential, and she'd do best with a calm, confident companion.
Ongoing Health
Daisy Mae is in great shape. She does have slightly runny eyes, which her foster suspects are due to environmental allergies that flare up during rainy times of the year. This doesn't require treatment beyond occasional gentle cleaning and awareness of seasonal changes.
Training & Support
Daisy Mae is fully house-trained and crate-trained. She benefits from slow introductions to other dogs due to her enthusiastic play style. She needs space and a calm environment for mealtime and to unwind.
