Doss is a playful and spirited girl who is very people-friendly! She might be a little shy when she first meets new people, but she warms up quickly. Doss can sometimes be reactive towards other dogs, especially when she's on a leash or behind a fence, though this has lessened as she's gotten older. With proper introductions and supervised visits, she has enjoyed playing with other dogs. She does best with calmer dogs who can handle her energetic play style. Doss is also very happy to relax and cuddle once she's had enough exercise. She has a moderate to high prey drive, so she enjoys chasing squirrels and birds. When bored, she can be a little destructive. While she's not a big fan of swimming, she does enjoy playing in the water. Doss responds well to verbal cues and redirecting her attention. Her leash skills and basic obedience are good, and she seems to enjoy one-on-one training sessions.
Ideal Home
Doss enjoys being a part of daily activities and would thrive in a home where people are around most of the day. She would benefit from daily walks and opportunities to play throughout the day. She loves being off-leash with her people and would do best in a home with a fenced yard, as she is curious and enjoys exploring. Doss is best suited to a home with no other dogs but can happily live with cats. She shows occasional interest in playing with cats but is very respectful if they don't want to engage.
Ongoing Health
Doss has no known health issues.
Training & Support
Doss can be slightly destructive when bored, so providing her with plenty of mental and physical stimulation is key. She responds well to training and enjoys one-on-one sessions, so continuing with positive reinforcement training will help her succeed.
