El

El came to us abandoned on the streets of Dallas with a poorly healed fractured leg, multiple scars, and a litter of adorable puppies. She was scared, hungry, and exhausted, but despite her condition, she took wonderful care of her babies. Now that her puppies have all found their forever families, it's El's turn to find her own loving home. She's currently soaking up the security and affection in her foster home and is ready to share her journey with a special family.

El's early life left her uncertain around humans, though she clearly longs for love and companionship. She's a gentle soul who loves to run and play outdoors and carries herself with a proud, colorful flair. Sudden movements and loud noises can still make her skittish, but she'll emerge with gentle reassurance once things calm down. El walks well on a leash, though she's still working on her confidence around fast-moving cars. She's potty and crate trained and learns new things very quickly. While her fears are still present, her courage and resilience shine even brighter. She loves cuddles, seeks out her humans for comfort, and enjoys playing with her foster siblings.

Ideal Home

El would do best in a predictable household where she has the time and space to adjust to new things. She is dog and cat friendly and absolutely needs to be in a home with another dog to help her feel more secure. She needs a patient family who will help her continue to learn that humans can be trusted and that outstretched hands offer kindness, not harm.

Ongoing Health

El had a fractured leg that has healed, though it may have some lasting effects. She has multiple scars from her previous life.

Training & Support

El is potty and crate trained and is a quick learner. She is still working on her confidence around sudden movements, loud noises, and fast cars. Consistent reassurance and positive reinforcement will be key to her continued growth.
