Marvin

Meet Marvin! This bright, goofy boy is ready for a fresh start and a loving, consistent home. Marvin is a 2.5-year-old, 55lb Golden Retriever/Husky mix who came to us from an overcrowded shelter in California after his previous owner could no longer care for him. Despite his rough beginning, Marvin is incredibly smart, eager to please, and bonds quickly with his people. He has a wonderful balance of playful energy and mellow companionship, ready to romp like a puppy one moment and nap by your side the next. Marvin is food motivated and surprisingly gentle when taking treats. He's also a pro at fetch and loves to show off his retrieving skills! He listens well to simple corrections and is a loving, affectionate companion who simply wants to be part of his human's world. Marvin has so much heart and potential, and with the right guidance, he'll be an endlessly rewarding best friend!

Ideal Home

Marvin will do best in a home where he is the only dog, and without cats. He is not suited for busy city life or an apartment. We are looking for adopters with a free-standing home and a fenced backyard for him. Some decompression time will do wonders for his nerves and help nurture his calmer, more confident side.

Ongoing Health

Marvin is up-to-date on vaccinations, microchipped, and neutered.

Training & Support

Marvin is working on his confidence around other dogs and can be wary and reactive. He has some separation anxiety and thrives when he's close to his people in a calm, predictable environment. He listens well to simple corrections and would benefit from a family experienced with helping dogs gain confidence and refine their training.
