Romeo, now Koji, is a unique blend of Husky, Cattle Dog, and Terrier with a heart full of love to give. He's an energetic and affectionate boy who was rescued with a cable tie around his collar, indicating a tough start. Despite his past, he's a sweetie who bonds closely with his people and enjoys lounging at home with his family. He loves his walks and is eager to be your best friend, following you around and showering you with cuddles and belly rubs. He's a good lap dog at heart, despite his size and strength, and enjoys being brushed. He's been eating a healthy diet and is up-to-date on his vet care.
Ideal Home
Koji thrives in an adult-only home or a home with older children (10+). He prefers to be the only dog in the household. He needs an active guardian who can provide him with daily exercise, such as hiking or jogging for 3-5 miles. He also needs a home where he is not left alone for extended periods, as he will attempt to climb an 8-foot fence to follow you. He does not do well with cats.
Ongoing Health
Koji is up-to-date on his annual vet care and eats a healthy fresh food mix with his kibble.
Training & Support
Koji has had prior training and is working on leash manners, as he can be a strong puller. He was also working on potty training, and neutering helped with marking. While he did well with a trainer and a new baby initially, he recently guarded a toy and nipped a toddler's heel. He needs a consistent and experienced owner who can manage his resource guarding and provide clear guidance. He also has a tendency to climb fences when left alone, so supervision and a secure environment are important.
