Stella

Stella is our longest resident, patiently waiting for her forever family for 3 years. This playful and energetic 5-year-old Staffordshire Terrier mix weighs over 50 pounds and is eager to please her people. She loves a good game of fetch and is a true cuddle bug who enjoys being close to her humans. Stella is a smart girl who learns quickly, especially with treats! She knows her name, can sit, walks well on a leash, and is both house-trained and crate-trained. She's happy to sleep in a crate, her own bed, or even yours!

Ideal Home

Stella would do best as the only dog in the home or with a calm, older male dog. She has a tendency to chase cats, so a cat-free environment is preferred. If your home has children, they should be older and respectful of animals.

Ongoing Health

Stella is a healthy girl with no known ongoing health concerns.

Training & Support

Stella is very treat-motivated and learns quickly. While she is mostly well-behaved, she does sometimes get excited and put her paws on people, but we're working on this and believe it will be easy to correct due to her intelligence. She has completed a mix of basic obedience and behavior modification courses. Consistent routine and short, daily training sessions (around 10 minutes) will help her continue to make good choices and strengthen your bond. Her previous trainer in the Indianapolis and surrounding Southern Indy areas (Greenwood, Whiteland, Franklin) is happy to offer guidance.

Stella is located in the Indianapolis area. We offer foster to adopt, which allows for a trial period before full adoption.
