Uma

Uma is a sassy, fun, and loyal girl with a big heart! Due to her unknown past, we believe she may have experienced some abuse, which is why she doesn't like being restrained, hugged, or forced in any way. She is looking for a special family and handler who can be patient, calm, and a strong leader. Learning her subtle cues for comfort and correction will be key to building a strong bond. Uma is very food-motivated, which makes training a breeze as she's a quick learner! Once she trusts you, she'll shower you with kisses, lean into you, and become wonderfully playful. While she can get overstimulated during playtime, she calms down easily with treats and by practicing commands.

Ideal Home

Uma would do best in a home with older children or no children. She is not a fan of other dogs.

Uma requires special instruction and medication for vet visits.

Training & Support

Uma will need a patient and calm handler who can learn her subtle cues and establish a strong leadership. She is very food-driven, making training an enjoyable and quick process. She can get overstimulated during play but is easily redirected with treats and commands.
