Merlot

MERLOT is a beautiful, friendly Shepherd mix puppy, estimated to be around 8 months old. She currently weighs about 33 lbs and is expected to be a medium-sized adult. Merlot is a vibrant red color and is as sweet and smart as can be. She gets along wonderfully with other dogs, cats, and loves children! She's mastering her leash skills and is truly a delightful companion. Merlot enjoys playful wrestling with other dogs but also loves to cuddle and is not overly energetic. We'll share more updates and photos as we get them from her foster family.

Ideal Home

Merlot thrives in a home that can provide both playtime and cuddle time. She's already doing great with other dogs, cats, and kids.

Ongoing Health

Merlot is fully vetted and up-to-date on all her medical needs. Her adoption fee covers all necessary vetting, including deworming and flea/tick prevention.

Training & Support

Merlot is doing well with leash training. As with any rescue, housetraining can take time and patience, and we recommend a 2-week shutdown and decompression period for her to adjust to her new environment. We also offer a $60 rebate for completing positive-based training classes.

Transporation

Merlot is located within a several-hour radius of Rochester, NY. Transport is available to approved adopters within this area. Adopters in Canada within 3 hours are also welcome, provided puppies are old enough for their rabies vaccination to cross the border (typically around 16 weeks).
