Meet Rio!
Rio is a beautiful, young Shepherd mix, estimated to be born around May 1, 2025. She currently weighs about 30 pounds and is expected to be a medium-sized dog when fully grown. Rescued from an abandoned home, Rio is a resilient, friendly, and gentle soul who has already shown a lot of promise. She can be a bit reserved initially, but she's blossoming into a very affectionate and loyal companion. Her fosters describe her as super smart, eager to please, and full of potential. Rio would make a wonderful companion for an active person or family looking for a bright, loving dog to share life's adventures with.
Ideal Home
Rio would love a home where she can continue to learn and grow. She enjoys playing with other dogs and would appreciate a canine companion, though it's not a requirement. She has been gentle and friendly with children and has shown great potential for leash manners. Due to her reserved nature when first meeting new people, we recommend homes with children 10 years and older to ensure the best fit for both Rio and the family.
Ongoing Health
Rio is generally healthy and has no known health conditions.
Training & Support
Rio is doing wonderfully with her house training and is already crate trained. She's a quick learner and is even working on ringing a bell to communicate when she needs to go outside! With continued positive reinforcement and a family excited to keep her learning, Rio will undoubtedly continue to thrive. Remember, every rescue pup is a work in progress, and showing up for them every day is key to helping them bloom into their best selves.
