Ferrari is a 3-year-old, 50-pound bundle of love who's ready to zoom into your heart! He's a medium-energy guy who enjoys a good nap, soaking up the sun, or just being near his favorite people while they go about their day. His foster family believes he's been around kids, cats, and dogs before, as he tends to ignore the resident cats and wags his tail enthusiastically when a school bus goes by, a sweet reminder of past greetings.
Ferrari is generally a quiet fellow, perking up for walks and meal times. He can sometimes get a little lonely when left alone, but his foster family is actively working on this with him. He's a very good boy who respects his toys and has never damaged anything in the house. He already knows commands like "sit" and "lie down" and is eager to learn more! While he's still perfecting his leash manners, he's making great progress. He absolutely adores car rides, giving hugs, and meeting new people – he treats everyone like an old friend! Ferrari also enjoys long hikes and learns new things quickly. He does get overheated easily, so a little coat is a must when it's above 80°F, along with plenty of water. He's happy to carry his own water in his adorable backpack on longer adventures, or his foster will bring a bottle for shorter outings. He's also comfortable in his crate if you need to leave him for an activity.
Ideal Home
Ferrari would be a perfect companion for a busy family or someone who spends most of their day at home. He's house-trained and crate-trained, though he may cry a bit when left alone, which can be soothed with a calm voice.
Ongoing Health
Ferrari overheats easily and will require a protective coat and water when temperatures are above 80°F.
Training & Support
Ferrari is working on being comfortable when left alone. He knows several basic commands and is eager to learn more. He is improving on his leash walking daily.
