Meet Halo!
Halo's journey began at a high-intake shelter in Houston, where she faced a dire situation. Fortunately, a dedicated shelter staff member stepped in to foster her, giving her a precious second chance. This gentle soul made such a profound impression that she was rescued from a place that cares for over 22,000 dogs annually – a rare occurrence indeed! Now, this sweet girl is ready to find the loving forever family she truly deserves.
Halo is a calm, affectionate, and middle-aged (around 5-6 years old) fluffball who has truly mastered the art of relaxation. She enjoys a leisurely stroll in the yard before settling down indoors, often with her front legs playfully tucked beneath her. Weighing in at approximately 85 pounds, she has a few pounds to lose but possesses an easygoing personality that perfectly matches her size.
This smart girl already knows "sit" and "shake," and she's eager to show off her repertoire of tricks for a tasty treat! Her strong food motivation makes her a joy to train and a quick learner.
Halo has interacted wonderfully with other dogs and has been fantastic with children. Above all, she adores people and clearly has a history of being a beloved companion. She settles into new environments quickly, behaving as if she's always belonged, and her greatest happiness comes from being close to her humans.
Ideal Home
Halo would thrive in a home where she won't be left alone for extended periods. While she can be crated if necessary, she'd much prefer to be with her people. A family that doesn't frequently kennel their dogs would be an excellent fit. She would also appreciate a yard or some space to roam and explore, as her likely Great Pyrenees mix suggests she enjoys having room to stretch her legs.
Ongoing Health
Halo is currently working on losing a few pounds to reach a healthier weight.
