Private Adoption - Daisy

Daisy is a 3-year-old mixed breed with a lot of love to give! She weighs about 35 lbs and we believe she has herding or working breed in her lineage. Daisy was adopted as a puppy and has been a cherished member of her family, but due to changes in her home environment, particularly with an older resident dog, her anxiety has increased, leading to some reactivity. This has been a difficult decision, but her family wants Daisy to have the best chance to thrive. She is timid but incredibly affectionate and craves attention. Daisy would benefit greatly from a home that can provide mental and physical stimulation, along with plenty of cuddles.

Ideal Home

Daisy would do best in a home with a fenced-in backyard or a large piece of land where she can explore safely. A family committed to daily walks is a must! She needs a home without young children and ideally, someone who works from home would be a great fit. Patience is key, as Daisy needs a family willing to work on building her confidence and obedience. An owner experienced with dogs, especially those who may have dealt with resource guarding tendencies, would be ideal.

Ongoing Health

Daisy takes two medications to help manage her anxiety: Fluoxetine and Gabapentin.

Training & Support

Daisy has developed some resource guarding tendencies, so an owner experienced with this behavior is important. She also needs support in building her confidence and obedience.

Transportation

Daisy is located in the Saint John area. Her family will keep her until a perfect match is found, and we will assist in sending suitable applicants their way.
