About Halo

Meet Halo!

Halo's journey began at a high-intake shelter in Houston, where she faced a desperate situation. Thankfully, a compassionate shelter staff member stepped in to foster her, offering a second chance at life. This gentle giant made such a profound impression that she was saved from the euthanasia list. Now, this sweet girl is ready to find her forever family and experience the love she so deserves.

Halo is a calm, loving, and middle-aged (around 5-6 years old) fluffball who has truly perfected the art of relaxation. She enjoys leisurely strolls in the backyard before coming inside to lounge, often with her front legs splayed out in front of her. Weighing approximately 85 pounds (with a little room for improvement), she possesses an easygoing personality that perfectly complements her gentle nature.

A true star, Halo already knows "sit" and "shake." Her food motivation is off the charts, making her an eager and enthusiastic participant in training sessions. With a tasty treat in hand, she's ready to showcase all her tricks! This makes her a fun and responsive dog for continued training and enrichment.

Halo has a proven track record of getting along wonderfully with other dogs and has been fantastic with children. Above all, she adores people. It's evident that she was once a cherished pet, as she settles into new surroundings with ease, quickly feeling at home and showing her happiest self when close to her humans.

Ideal Home

Halo would thrive in a home where she won't be left alone for extended periods. While she can be crated if necessary, she'd much prefer to be with her people. A family that doesn't frequently kennel their dogs would be an excellent fit. She would also appreciate having a yard or some space to roam and explore, especially given her likely Great Pyrenees heritage, which suggests a love for having room to move.

Ongoing Health

Halo is currently working on managing her weight and would benefit from a healthy diet and exercise.

Training & Support

Halo is a quick learner, especially when motivated by food. She knows basic commands like "sit" and "shake" and would likely pick up new cues with consistent positive reinforcement. Her love for her humans means she'll likely adapt well to most household routines.
