Meet Tina!

Tina is a 9-year-old, 12-pound Bichon Frise with a soft, gentle presence and a quietly sweet personality. She is still building confidence and can be shy in new environments, taking her time to feel safe and comfortable. With patience, routine, and a calm approach, she gradually begins to show her affectionate, tender side.

Tina does well in playgroup and benefits from the comfort and guidance of other dogs. Because of this, a confident canine companion in the home is required to help her feel secure and supported as she continues building confidence.

She enjoys gentle interaction and is looking for a calm, patient home where she can move at her own pace and feel safe while doing so. A meet-and-greet at the shelter is required to ensure the best fit for everyone involved.

Tina has lenticular sclerosis, a common age-related change in the lens of the eye that may cause a cloudy appearance but does not typically affect vision. She also had the remainder of her teeth removed at NMDR and it is recommended feeding softened food for life to support long-term comfort and care.

With time, patience, and consistency, Tina continues to show she can blossom into a loving and devoted companion.

Many NMDR dogs have had limited prior socialization and may need time, patience, and support as they adjust to home life. Skills such as house training, leash walking, and handling may require continued practice. Progress will vary by individual dog.
